Kenya’s Abraham Kiptom, winner of last year’s Access Bank Lagos City Marathon has emerged the winner of the 2107 edition and will be going home with the cash prize of $50,000. Kiptom won the 42.1km race for the second time in a time of 2 hours, 16 minutes, 21 seconds. Trailing him in second and third place were Ronny Ronny Kipkoech (Kenya), and Regasa Bejiga (Ethiopia). Ilya Pam Nwanta was the first Nigerian to finish the race and he will be going home with N1million. Nwanta crossed the finish line before Philip Sharabutu who was the second Nigerian to finish the race. Sharabutu had finished as the first Nigerian in the Lagos city marathon maiden edition last year.
