Dear Mrs. Tonye Briggs-Oniyide
This announcement below is absolutely unconstitutional, an abuse of people”s civil rights, an undermining of the Wike administration in its attempt to show the rule of law and a question mark on your competence as culture commissioner. It is an attempt to intrude in people’s privacy. So people will need your permission to hold birthday parties and weddings. You are not even the Nigerian Police Force. Will churches need your permission to hold events too? This type of meddlesome cluelessness is irritating. Why are you about to tag your governor, a lawyer, as an abridger of people’s civil rights? Is Rivers State now a police state? Do we now go bribibg civil servants in your ministry for permission letters
to have parties? This is absurd, counter-productive and toxic to the image of the man who made you a commissioner. I am not doing partisan politics. I am an outraged cotizen. Leave my civil rights alone, madam. Besides, you are not the RVHA.
